Highly rated South African defender Jeante Strydom will add an international flavour to the Steel line-up in 2024. Able to cover both goal and wing defence, Jeante made her debut for the Proteas during last year’s World Cup while later in the year completed tours with South Africa to Australia and England. With a strong work ethic and traditional South African competitiveness, Strydom sets high standards for herself and in a bid to improve her game, is no stranger to plying her trade abroad. She has played for the Bond Bull Sharks in Australia while at home was part of the Gauteng Golden Firebirds team which won bronze in the domestic competition. Strydom was also a key member of the South African team which had their best result at a Fast5 Netball Series when finishing runners-up in 2022.
