Gaining her first full contract at the elite level last season, promising young midcourter Ivari Christie returns to the Steel for a second season in 2024. On the back of a brilliant school career at Hamilton Girls’ High, Christie is seemingly destined for a bright netball future. Straight out of school, Christie relocated to Invercargill after being offered a training partner contract with the Steel in 2022. Raw, explosive and fearless, Christie’s ability to cover all three midcourt positions makes her a valuable asset. She was awarded a Tania Dalton Foundation Scholarship in 2020 and made the NZ Secondary School squad in 2020 and 2021. Determined and never taking a backward step, Christie is dedicated to her training and learning while also growing her professional habits. With a year under her belt, she will be looking to make further inroads in 2024.
