Well-travelled shooter Grace Namana earns her first full contract with the Steel in 2024 after debuting as a replacement player in 2021. A former NZ Secondary Schools player, Namana has previously played for the Mainland, South and Manawa NNL teams and last year spent a season playing for the Severn Stars in the UK Super League. An experienced player with a high volume and accuracy rate, Namana was in hot demand in 2022 after winning the NNL title with Manawa, and found herself on the bench for the Pulse, Magic and Mystics during an illness-affected ANZ Premiership. She capped her strong contribution in 2022 with inclusion in the historic Mixed Invitational team for that year’s Cadbury Netball Series. Predominantly a goal shoot, Namana has since extended her repertoire to also become an accomplished goal attack. A crafty player with plenty of netball smarts and experience, Namana adds another dimension to an impressive Steel shooting end.
