Official ANZ Premiership pre-season tournament heads to Otaki

Fans will be in for a feast of action when New Zealand’s best netballers hit the court at Te Wānanga o Raukawa Campus in Otaki for the official pre-season tournament of the ANZ Premiership, March 10-12, 2017.

The event will feature all six ANZ Premiership teams; SKYCITY Mystics, Northern Stars, WBOP Magic, Central Pulse, Mainland Tactix and Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steel.

With today marking 100 days to go until the first centre pass of the ANZ Premiership on March 26, Netball New Zealand Chief Executive Jennie Wyllie says the opportunity for Clubs to have a tough hit-out prior to the season proper is invaluable.

“We are delighted that Netball Central, in partnership with Te Wānanga o Raukawa, will host the official pre-season tournament of the ANZ Premiership,” Wyllie said.

“The opportunity to bring all six teams together for a pre-season tournament is hugely valuable and also gives fans the opportunity to see their team or favourite players in action.”

Netball Centre CEO Carolyn Young echoed Wyllie’s sentiments and also thanked Te Wānanga o Raukawa for their support.

“We are very fortunate to have a partner that can provide such great support and enable us to prepare in the best way possible ahead of the 2017 ANZ Premiership,” Young said.

“This is a great opportunity for our Zone to showcase Netball at its best and offer a sneak preview of what to expect just weeks out from the start of the league.”

Further information regarding the draw will be announced in the New Year.
